British Esports is pleased to announce the finalists participating in the Student Champs Grand Finals, scheduled to take place at Confetti X, the brand new purpose built esports arena at Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies in Nottingham right next to Metronome, on Saturday 2 July and Sunday 3 July. It will be a LAN (local area network) event, with matches playing out on a live stage.
This year’s competition saw a huge number of teams compete across a variety of games including: Overwatch, League of Legends, Rocket League and VALORANT.
From over 700 teams across the UK competing in the Winter and Spring seasons throughout 2021/22, only the final 20 remain to battle it out in the live grand finals. The finalists include Queen Mary’s College Basingstoke, Gower College Swansea, NWSLC, Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG), Cheshire College – South & West (CCSW), South Devon College, Halesowen College, Exeter College, Farnborough Sixth Form College, Farnborough College of Technology (FCOT), AGSB, Alva Academy, and Coleg Sir Gar.
We’re also delighted to welcome the finals of the AoC Sport FIFA 22 Cup (finalists TBC) and a showmatch from the Xbox Invitational of Natspec colleges.
For the full breakdown of fixtures, please visit the Student Champs website.
Tickets for the event are free and are now available via the Event Page. Both ‘Weekend’ (2 day passes) are available as well as ‘Day’ spectator tickets for Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July respectively. Tickets to the finals are automatically assigned to all finalists and team leaders. The Student Champs will also be available as a live steam via the British Esports Twitch channel.
Doors will open from 9am for finalists and 10am for spectators. There will also be keynotes, arcade games, and wider activities for spectators and finalists to enjoy throughout the day.
