Update for the Nottingham Metronome show, originally planned for 1st May 2026.
If you booked via the venue with Gigantic, your ticket will remain valid for the new date, most likely in October, to be announced soon.
For all other ticket agents, refunds are available at your point of purchase and a new ticket will need to be purchased from the venue once a new date is confirmed.
We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding for this process, brought about by a change in management for AHC.

Show postponed – statement from the band
African Head Charge would like to announce that the shows scheduled for April and May will need to be postponed.
As the project enters a new phase under new management, we have taken the decision to pause these dates in order to ensure that all live activity is organised and delivered in the right way, with the care and attention that the music, the band, and audiences deserve. We understand that this will be disappointing to those who were planning to attend, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. We are very grateful to the promoters, venues, and supporters for their patience and understanding. African Head Charge remains fully committed to returning to the stage, and we hope to announce rescheduled dates as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued support.

African Head Charge celebrate 45 years with a return to Metronome joined by very special guest GAUDI, with support from Earthpipe.

Fresh off the back of their first release in 12 years, A Trip to Bolgatanga is a stunning return, bringing together the talents of two masters who, after a hiatus, have created a rich album brimming with ideas and executed with finesse. A Trip To Bolgatanga is a musical journey to Bonjo’s current hometown in northern Ghana: a psychedelic travelogue across the landscape featuring their trademark hand percussion and group chanting augmented with rumbling bass, mutated horns, dubbed out effects, wild wah-wah, haunted voodoo dancehall, synthetic swells, disco congas, tumbling layers of electronic effects, blues-inflected woodwind, and funky organ.

As with every On-U Sound production, each repeated listen reveals fresh detail, and its power won’t be really understood until heard on a big system, when it’ll reduce all competition to rubble.

With a discography that continues to resonate across generations and a visual identity that captivates the senses, African Head Charge stands as a testament to the power of music as a force for connection and cultural expression.
