Nottingham’s MacLarty Brown Media has scooped up the Royal Television Society Midlands Factual Award for last December’s Kanneh-Masons special “A Musical Family Christmas”. The musical performances were recorded live at Metronome.
The Kanneh-Masons are seven siblings, aged 12 to 25, who first shot to fame when six of them reached the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2015. Following their appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, Sheku, the third eldest, became the first black artist to win BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2016 and later played at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in 2018.
The show saw all seven siblings return home to Nottingham after a whirlwind few years of conquering the classical charts and touring across the globe. We were delighted that the superstars chose our venue to hold their Christmas special!
If you missed it last year, you can watch A Musical Family Christmas on BBC Four on Christmas Day at 8.45pm.
