On Saturday 29 July, Metronome was proud to host the sold out Nottinghamshire Pride aftershow with Gladrags.
The city once again came together and the rain stayed away for a day of Pride celebrations. The event began with a visibility march through the city centre, followed by educational stalls weaving through Hockley, and live performances on the main outdoor stage. Finally it was time for the afterparty, when Metronome came alive.
The event was high energy and featured seasoned performers who had performed in front of a Nottingham Gladrags crowd before, such as Marilyn Sane, Nana Arthole, Bella Bestia and Vayne, but also featured newcomers Rhysspieces, Coco Deville and Oedipussi Rex. Whether the performers were from near or far, they fell in love with the crowd and made the event spectacular.
Attendees of the event were encouraged to dress up and show off their individual style, celebrating the diversity within the community, and the crowd did not disappoint. As well as the performances the Gladrags DJs Luxxxury, Baby Tap & Boz played throughout the night keeping the party vibe alive and keeping the crowd dancing.
A portion of each ticket that was sold was donated to Notts LGBT+ Network who do great work within the local community, offering support and information to thousands of people in the county.
