NUSIC Academy Workshop

NUSIC helps Nottingham musicians acquire knowledge, skills and contacts to get their music wherever they want it to go. The theme for the March Q&A panel is ‘Radio’. Find out all you need to know to get your music heard with leading industry names.

BBC Introducing
Wednesday 6 March

BBC Introducing, Confetti and Metronome partner up for a special gig featuring some of the best local musicians. The acts will be filmed live, as Andy Rogers the Senior Producer for Live Music at BBC Radio 1, will be at the event mixing it all. It will be then be broadcast on the radio. This edition features Soft Girls & Boys ClubDon’t Forget RupertNactus Kunan and BRIA.

Feel The Beat Pro #5 – Artist Development

Confetti and Metronome bring together music industry professionals to discuss A&R, how to develop as an artist and how to get a record deal. Guests confirmed are Jamie Nelson (BMG), Diane Young and Charlie Rapino who have all worked with some of the biggest acts and labels in the world.

Able Orchestra as part of Soundstage Festival

Able Orchestra is an inspiring ensemble which brings together disabled young musicians, with members of the Halle orchestra and young musicians from Portland Academy. They create new music compositions in real time using laptops to create wonderfully immersive soundscapes and spectacular visuals. Following Able Orchestra, Inspire Youth Arts soundtrack ensemble performs their original soundtrack to a new short film on a ‘Fantastic Worlds’ theme.

Family Orchestra as part of Soundstage Festival

The Nottinghamshire Family Orchestra and Chorus will be joining players from the BBC Philharmonic, in a performance at Metronome. Together they’ll create a new musical soundtrack to Georges Méliès’ 1903 silent film, Kingdom of the Fairies. The new piece will be created in just one day. It will be inspiring and – crucially – fun!

Nintendo Nottingham: 6th Birthday Meet
Saturday 6 April 2019

This will be their 6th birthday meet and it is going to be massive. We are running one of the qualifying events which will get you to Insomnia 64 and a chance of getting to the UK finals of the European Smash Ball Team Cup. It will be teams of three, so get together and get practising. You can also expect an art contest, mega raffle in aid of Special Effect, craft corner and lots of casual play.
