Mark Steel is back in town. This time he’s coming to Nottingham!

Now in its 12th series on BBC Radio 4, comedian, columnist and author Mark Steel visits six different towns across the UK. He delves into the history, people and idiosyncrasies to try to work out what ingredients combine to make the places distinctive. He then creates a bespoke stand-up show about the town, which he performs in front of a local audience.

It’s a celebration of the sort of places in Britain that have their own fascinating stories to tell with inhabitants who are passionate about what their town has to offer. Essentially, it’s a best man speech, but about a place.

Previously, Mark has recorded shows in well over 50 interesting and unusual places from Penzance in Cornwall to Kirkwall in Orkney with all stops between including Aberystwyth, Birkenhead, Derry, Boston, Douglas, Hull and Paisley among many many more. We would love Nottingham locals to attend as it’s your place that we are talking about!

In the lead up to the production, to help minimise the spread of coronavirus we ask that you do not attend the recording if you begin to develop any of the symptoms of coronavirus or if you have come into close contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus. If you have registered for additional tickets on behalf of your friends and family, we ask that you also let them know to stay at home if they need to.

Accessibility
Standing gigs offer accessibility for disabled patrons in our mezzanine. We will always do our best to accommodate individual requirements, and other viewing options may be available at standing gigs following a risk assessment of the event.
