Join us for a live Q&A with the legendary John Robb — musician, author, journalist, eco-activist, and frontman of post-punk legends The Membranes. Known for his sharp cultural insights and boundary-pushing creativity, Robb is a true force in British music and media.

The format of this event will be Robb diving into his book Punk Rock Ruined My Life and then the second half he will be in conversation with Pauline Murray, lead vocalist of the 1970s pioneering punk band Penetration.

John Robb is the founder of Louder Than War and Louder Than Words festivals, and author of acclaimed books including Live Forever (Oasis), The Art of Darkness (Goth), and Manifesto with green energy pioneer Dale Vince. His upcoming 2026 memoirs are already being adapted into a film.

Robb was the first to interview Nirvana, coined the term Britpop, and helped document the Madchester scene. His website louderthanwar.com is one of the UK’s top music and culture platforms, and he continues to champion new voices and ideas.

Don’t miss this chance to hear from one of the UK’s most influential cultural commentators. Expect stories, insights, and plenty of punk spirit.

This event coincides with a tour to celebrate Robb’s memoir, Punk Rock Ruined My Life: And Other Stories, which is released by Manchester University Press this May (now available for pre-order).
