[FILM] The Pie: 8.25pm
[FILM] Brian: 8.45pm
Q&A: 9.05pm – 9.30pm

Two of Nottingham’s best loved football fanzines The Pie (1987-2007) and Brian (1988-1995) are being given a new lease of life thanks to a regeneration project by LeftLion, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

This event will mark the public launch of the digital archives of both fanzines. From the mid-eighties to the mid-noughties – and in the pre-internet era – football fanzines were a vital way of fans keeping in touch with each other and sharing thoughts on their teams. In a time before the dominance of social media, Youtube, vlogs and podcasts fanzines were a primary form of communication between fans.

This project means that the archives of these two fanzines will live online (and in the British Library) for future generations to discover. This event will feature the screening of two new films featuring contributors from both fanzines, live keynote talks from special guests and a Q&A with the fanzine founders. Tickets for this event are free thanks to support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Guests who attend will also receive a free set of limited edition postcards and pin badges
