Amelia Coburn has a knack for making the unusual sound timeless. Her honest, occasionally hilarious and quintessentially north eastern persona disarms and beguiles in equal measure. Drawing inspiration from gothic literature and the shadowy allure of film noir, there is a darkness at the heart of many of her songs, populated by vivid characters and nocturnal creatures. Her Bill Ryder Jones-produced debut album gained a cult following with national radio play across BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music. Now with a new album on the way, Amelia is already receiving praise for the first single release. The new album, ‘Myself and Other Monsters’ is out on 5th March 2027.
Renowned for her vivid, gothic-tinged storytelling, Coburn’s new record is a cabinet of curiosities, where the supernatural hides within the domestic and beauty exists alongside the grotesque.
Shortlisted for ‘Best Live Performer’ at the AIM Independent Music Awards 2026, Coburn has built a devoted cult following and a myriad of richly deserved critical acclaim. A sold-out solo headline UK tour earlier this year and a run of support slots with Paul Weller, Suzanne Vega and Hamish Hawk has cemented her growing reputation.
