AGMP Concerts presents FLAMIN’ GROOVIES – ‘Shake Some Action’ 50th anniversary tour.

“The Flamin’ Groovies may be the greatest rock and roll band to ever come out of San Francisco.” – Rolling Stone Magazine

Flamin’ Groovies announce a handful of dates this autumn to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their iconic Power Pop song (and album) Shake Some Action.

Originally formed in San Francisco by Cyril Jordan and Roy Loney in 1965, Flamin’ Groovies released their first three seminal albums Supersnazz, Flamingo, and Teenage Head before Roy Loney left the group in 1971. Chris Wilson replaced Loney and the band went on release their now classic albums between 1976-1979 – Shake Some Action, Flamin’ Groovies Now and Jumpin’ In The Night.

In 1976, Flamin’ Groovies headlined the Roundhouse in London with support from Ramones and The Stranglers. This legendary concert has been cited as one of the influences behind the punk rock scene.

The Teenage Head album is listed in the 2006 book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.
