An incredible six-piece band of amazing musicians, Suntou Susso and his band are a must-see. The band is fronted by Suntou Susso (Kora, Lead Vocal, Percussion) with Tommy Kirby (Bass), Andy Christie (Guitar), Oli Mason (Drums), Daniel Somer (Keyboard) and Piers Tamplin (Saxophone, Backing Vocals).

Suntou Susso is a multi-instrumentalist: Kora player, percussionist, singer and composer from The Gambia. Born a Griot in a 700-year old tradition, the Kora – harp-lute with 22 strings – is unique to the Griots of the Mandinka people. Griots have a unique societal role as oral historians, transmitting and preserving a people’s culture through the generations in song, music and poetry.

Suntou’s family includes some of the world’s most well-respected West African musicians. His musical abilities are outstanding, perhaps unique for his generation. An in-demand and charismatic performer, he attracted attention as soon as he arrived on the UK music scene.

Suntou Susso’s sensational debut album, Kanèfonyo (Never give up) is out now. Suntou composed, arranged and produced the album before and during lockdown in Gambia and the UK with seven musicians in the UK and seven musicians in Gambia.

Mazy

Hailing from Nottingham, Nigerian-born Mazy is an artist with immense versatility and many faucets to his craft. The eclectic sound he delivers attests uniqueness, that carries influence from the likes of Burna Boy, Trey Songz, WizKid and Rotimi. He began his journey with making beats in Graz (Austria), where he was raised. Eventually, he started working with local musicians who inspired and familiarised him with the art of mixing.

In May 2014, the artist and his friends launched a youth project named “Biig Dream”, gaining support from the Government of Graz. The goal was to assist aspiring talents in terms of recording, mixing and shooting music videos. Most of the Producer’s experience in mixing is credited to the awareness he gained, as he was responsible for managing and leading the recording studio. In May 2017, the pursuit of his dreams led him to the UK where he chose to relocate and now produces, mixes and masters his own songs. Mazy now anticipates new heights of his growth, dream and career.

Riddla

Riddla is a producer and artist developed in Nottingham, born and raised in Germany and of Ghanaian descent. Riddla started his interest in Music from watching his Father creating his own music on Fruity Loops when it first came out. Being constantly around Highlife music as a child helped him hone his ear for music. After moving from Germany to the UK he found himself exposed to a whole new culture, both socially and musically!

He discovering genres like grime. The aggressive style helped him almost find missing tools to express himself. He knew he was onto something when he produced a grime song called ‘Signature’ that would end up being remixed all over the midlands. Working with artists such as Young T and Bugsey in their early years and seeing their successes, he felt further motivated to push on and keep creating. Leading him to where he is now, having tunes with artists such as the late Costa Titch and many more!
