On Friday 21 February, one of Nottingham’s most exciting up-and-coming bands, My Pet Fauxes, played at Metronome.
The sold-out event started with a bang, as Tori Sheard and her band took to the stage. Her stage presence and toe-tapping songs had the crowd involved right from the get-go. The auditorium was already full of music fans dancing and singing along.
Following Tori, another ‘one to watch’ in the Nottingham music scene, The Headspace graced the stage. Their energetic performance kept up the momentum and excitement that was already filling the venue. If playing to a sold-out crowd was daunting, they certainly didn’t let it show – seemingly enjoying every minute.
After The Headspace finished their set, more and more fans began piling into the auditorium, eagerly awaiting My Pet Fauxes. As they came out onto the stage, there was cheering, screaming, and pushing forward from fans wanting to get as close as they could to the stage. The five-piece band unquestionably proved why their popularity has soared. Their set – made up of a mix of their own material and covers from bands such as Arctic Monkeys – was lively, enjoyable, and the band looked perfectly at home on a stage in front of 400 people.
We’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on what the future has in store for this exciting young band.
