We are delighted to be hosting one of the stages for Wigflex City Festival – an innovative programme of boundary-pushing music features alongside a variety of creative workshops, art installations, panelled discussions and a host of talks.

Electronic DJ/Producer Max Cooper will be performing an AV set showcasing visuals carefully selected to compliment his stunning music.

Max has earned many merits including several Resident Advisor top100 listings including RA top 20 live act of 2015, 2013 and 2012 plus top 100 DJ 2011.

“Some of the more ambitious music crafted within the last few years” – The Music Ninja

Born in 1980 and raised in Belfast, Cooper pursued music as well as science, earning a PhD in computational biology in 2008, while crystallizing his complex yet melodic sound, and his impressive run of singles dating back to 2007.

Since then he has developed his live performances with a focus on sensory immersion.

His contributions to the BBC’s long-running Essential Mix contextualized his striking sound amidst his peers. Max has also collaborated with contemporary classical composers Michael Nyman, Tom Hodge and Nils Frahm, with a reworking of Philip Glass with Bruce Brubaker announced for 2019.
