We’re delighted to bring BCUC here, all the way from Soweto, South Africa. The seven-piece band has been mesmerising audiences, both locally and globally, with its’ indigenous funk and high-energy performances, that have fast-made them one of South Africa’s most successful musical exports.

Think jazz sounds of 1970’s and 80’s productions, replaced by hip-hop influences and punk-rock energy. The music refuses to be formatted, and that’s the essence of ‘Africangungungu’, the name they’ve given to their ‘afropsychedelic’ music.

Constantly wowing audiences everywhere they play, including WOMAD festival, Roskilde Festival and the Worldwide FM Awards,  the BCUC momentum just keeps building and building.

“Without a doubt the best live act I saw in 2017.”
– Gilles Peterson, BBC 6 Music
